The Two Federations
Mikey competes under two governing bodies: the International Mounted Games Association through MGA Ireland, and the Irish Pony Club. Here is what each one is, and how 2026 went in both.
IMGA — International Mounted Games Association
The world governing body of mounted games, with member associations in twenty countries on four continents. In Ireland the sport is run by the Mounted Games Association of Ireland (MGA Ireland). IMGA stages the World Individual, World Pairs and World Team Championships each season — very fast races, U12 to Open, ridden on highly trained ponies.
🥇 1st in the World — IMGA World Pairs Championship (Under 15)
Mikey and Grace won the 30th IMGA World Pairs Championship in the Under 15 class at the Espace Équestre in Angers, France — World Champions.
4th in the World — IMGA World Individual Championship
Riding as an individual against the best in the sport, Mikey finished 4th in the world at the 2026 World Individual Championship.
Irish Pony Club — Pony Club Mounted Games
The Irish Pony Club runs mounted games as a five-rider team sport, with competitions all summer at Under 10, Junior and Senior level. The season builds to the championships — and the Senior final is ridden at the RDS in Dublin during the Horse Show.
🏆 National Final Champions — with Tipperary
Mikey and the Tipperary team won the Pony Club Mounted Games National Final at the Gallagher Dublin Horse Show in the RDS — champions of Ireland.
